Conrad Pickel Tour

A narrated bus tour will shuttle you throughout Palm Beach county to locations that feature Conrad Pickel stained glass windows, glass blowing art and a stained glass studio.   A representative will be at each location to provide a unique narrative about the artwork.

Learn about Conrad Pickel’s historical imprint on South Florida, his vision for arts & culture and his contribution to the global arts community.

Bus pickup location:  Boynton Beach Congregational Church, 115 N Federal Hwy, Boynton Beach; 8 am sharp.  

Tour stops include:

Former pastor, Lewis Wollenweber, will narrate the process the congregation commissioned Conrad Pickel to create and install stained glass windows that transform the former bank building into a church.

See how this family owned art glass studio uses imported and domestic glass to create a original stained glass artworks. Creative Director Taylor Materio will walk visitors through this one-of-a-kind process, and hear President Shanon Materio’s stories about her working relationship with Conrad Pickel. 

Benzaiten’s Executive Director Anita Holmes, will narrate a tour of this 14,500 square foot  arts center created in a historic FEC Train Depot. See artists create blown, fused and welded glass right before your eyes. 

See the largest Conrad Pickel stained glass in Florida narrated by historians Ginger Pedersen and Janet DeVries.

Conrad Pickel’s son, Paul, will narrate the process for the creation and installation of the Conrad Pickel Stained Glass windows in the church.
