COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

Historical Note: South Ocean String Band was an acoustic four-piece bluegrass band that made political statements indicating dissatisfaction with the amount of development in Florida. In 1985 they published an album, Makin' Waves with FXL Records, and a a 45RPM single, featuring “Watch Florida Grow, the Cracker Theme Song.” Band members included Tim and Debra Henson.

Scope and Content Note:  Small collection of clippings, original music, and promotional materials.
