Historical Note: George Seegitz, (c. 1882-c1966) served in the Spanish-American war c. 1900-1903. His career focused on music, musical theater, and song writing in Cleveland and Boynton Beach. In later life, he carved in wood and plexiglass and exhibited them in his home, Casa Artistica, on SE 5th Avenue at Seacrest Avenue. George Seegitz married Harriet Dittman (1886-1965) in 1907 and came to Boynton in 1929. Harriet Seegitz belonged to many local organizations, including the Boynton Woman’s Club, Needlecraft Club, Book Club, and Garden Club.
Scope and Content Note: Ephemera concerning the military record of George Seegitz, and photographs of Harriet Seegitz, chiefly of clubs she belonged to in the 1930s.
