Public Workshops for FY 2017-18 Proposed Budget
Lori LaVerriere, City Manager, has submitted a FY 2017-18 proposed budget of $83.3M for the City’s General Fund to the City Commission. This is a 4.9% increase over the FY 2016-17 adopted General Fund Budget of $79.4M.
The proposed budget is $202.4M for all funds, which includes the General Fund, Utility Operations, Capital Outlay for General Government and Utilities, Solid Waste, Debt Service, Fleet Maintenance, Golf Course, Self-Insurance and other smaller funds. The budget is recommending increasing the Fire Assessment Fee at $100 to $120 per residential unit.
The FY 2017-18 proposed budget proposes a 7.900 millage rate (no increase from FY 2016-17). The City is required to notify the Palm Beach County Property Appraisers’ Office of its tentative millage rate no later than July 27, 2017.
The City Commission has scheduled public workshops to review the FY2017-18 proposed budget as follows:
- Monday, July 17 beginning at 5 p.m. - Watch Video
- Tuesday, July 18 beginning at 10 a.m. - Watch Video
- Wednesday, July 19 beginning at 2 p.m. (if necessary)
All budget workshops will be held at the Boynton Beach City Library (Program Room), 208 South Seacrest Avenue, and are open to the public. Comments are welcomed.
