City Adds First All-Electric Vehicle to Fleet
ELECTRIC INSPECTOR GETS A “CHARGE” OUT OF DRIVING HIS NEW CITY VEHICLE
(August 15, 2017) The City of Boynton Beach is pleased to announce the addition of its first all-electric vehicle to the City’s fleet. The new Nissan Leaf will be utilized by the City’s Building Division Electrical Inspector for local travels, where the electric range of nearly 110 miles will easily satisfy daily driving needs.
The City will monitor electric consumption, maintenance costs, and future purchase prices to determine if additional electric vehicles are cost effective in future years. “Until then, we are hoping the electric inspector gets a “charge” out of driving the new car,” Jeff Livergood, Director of Public Works and Engineering, said with a smile.
