City Receives Executive Summary of Police Department Management Study

The City of Boynton Beach has received the Executive Summary of the Police Department Management Study, by Berkshire Advisors, which summarizes study findings and recommendations for the Department. The City entered into an agreement with Berkshire Advisors of Bay Village, Ohio on September 18, 2012, as a result of the City issuing an RFP for “A Police Department Management Study” to create a concise report outlining the current operations of our Police Department and any opportunities for improvement.

The Executive Summary will be presented by Berkshire Advisors to the Commission at the August 6, 2013, Commission Meeting. The presentation will include a review of their process, assessments and recommendations. Once the report is accepted by the Commission, the City Manager, will assemble a team to analyze and consider the report’s suggestions.

Lori LaVerriere, City Manager, indicates, “I look forward to reviewing the entire Berkshire Report with the Interim Police Chief, together with any other City Departments recommended in the report, and preparing a plan of action. I strongly believe that the findings and core challenges addressed in the report will be an effective tool for improvement, growth and unity in our Police Department.”

When received by the City of Boynton Beach, the entire Police Department Management Study Report will be placed on the City’s website.
