City's Streamlined Low Voltage Permitting Program
The City of Boynton Beach Building Division has implemented a Streamlined Low Voltage Permitting Program. This program provides an efficient mechanism that allows contractors to purchase low voltage permits in bulk. According to the National Electrical Code Standard 70, Current Edition, examples of low voltage items include burglar alarms, closed circuit televisions, thermostats, security cameras and phones and data cabling. Permits can be obtained for the installation, maintenance, replacement, or service of such items.
“The newly implemented Streamline Low Voltage Permitting Program provides an expedited process for all parties involved, reducing time, money and resources. It will also lessen carbon emissions by reducing trips to the City’s Building Division. This process is just one example of the efforts being implemented under the Economic Development Division,” indicates Andrew Mack, Building Official/City Engineer.
