Catch the 17th Annual Firefighters Fishing Tournament and Firehouse Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, April 22 (12 pm – 6 pm) at Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park (2010 N. Federal Hwy.) in Boynton Beach.
Men, women and junior anglers will compete in a morning fishing tournament for over $10,000 in cash and prizes. Upon their return to shore, this free, family-friendly event will kick-off and reel in attendees with a variety of components including the weigh-in of angler catches, music, firemen chili cook-off and tasting, freshly made BBQ, axe throwing, fire hose spraying, vendors and more.
Ten teams from neighboring fire departments, including Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Boca Raton Fire Rescue and Greenacres Fire Rescue, will compete in the Firehouse Chili Cook-Off against the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department, all vying for the title of Best Chili.
Event proceeds will benefit both the Boynton Beach Firefighters Benevolent Association and the family of former Boynton Beach Police Sergeant Dennis Castro, who unexpectedly passed away in December of 2022.
