The Doctor Is In: Joint Replacement with Pedro Piza, M.D. - Oct. 21 at 11 AM
Presented by Delray Medical Center and Orthopedic Surgeon, Pedro Piza, MD. Join in for a virtual discussion on joint replacement, pain, and discover options for treatment! Come prepared with questions and ready to learn new medical information as part of National Health Literacy Month.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Homework Help - Weekly, Monday through Thursday
Does your child need extra help with homework? Reading tutoring? SAT/ACT/GED prep? Come in for 30-minute tutoring sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2-6:30 PM, or Wednesday from 5-6:30 PM. Provided by Literacy AmeriCorps for grades K-12. Call 561-742-6884 to sign-up or ask questions.

Read for the Record DIY Crafts - Available for pickup 10/26-10/29
Read for the Record, coordinated through the PBC Literacy Coalition, invites city officials to read a selected book each year to local schools and raise awareness on the importance of children’s literacy. The 2020 event will happen on Thursday, Oct. 29, featuring “Evelyn Del Rey is Moving Away” by Med Medina.

In coordination with the virtual reading, youth can pick up themed craft kits in Youth Services from 10/26-10/29. Stay tuned on social media for updates on how you can watch the reading!

Sleepy Storytime - Friday, Oct. 16 and Friday, Oct. 30 at 10 AM

Teen Book Club 2 Go - Entire month of October
Teens, come to the Youth Library on the 1st floor to pick up a free copy of the best YA books around! October’s read is Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay. For children age 13-17yrs; while supplies last.

TeenTober - Entire month of October
Happy TeenTober! During the whole month of October, the library will celebrate teens, plan year-round teen services, and highlight the innovative ways library services help teens learn new skills. Fill out our survey to let Bianca, our new Teen Services Librarian, know what you’d like to see this year.

TeenTober Book Cover Contest - Entire month of October
Draw inspiration from the cover of your favorite book and redesign a new book cover with your own personal spin! Drop entries off at the Youth Library by 10/23. 1st place will receive a $50 Visa gift card, 2nd place will receive a $30 Visa gift card, and 3rd place will receive a $20 Visa gift card. Entries will be judged by the public 10/23-10/31.
