CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH UTILITIES ISSUES PRECAUTIONARY
BOIL WATER NOTICE EAST OF I-95 FOLLOWING PIPE BREAK
City of Boynton Beach utilities is issuing a precautionary boil water notice for customers in utilities service areas east of I-95. Early Saturday morning, a pipe broke as a contractor was working at the East Water Treatment Plant. This caused a temporary drop in water pressure for customers using City of Boynton Beach utility services on the east side of I-95 including Hypoluxo, Briny Breezes and Ocean Ridge.
Although pressure was restored, out of an abundance of caution, the City of Boynton Beach is issuing this precautionary boil water notice. City crews will be collecting bacteriological samples from affected areas.
The City of Boynton Beach is working closely with the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) to monitor the situation and will lift the boil water notice as soon as it's safe to do so. As a precaution, the utilities department recommends boiling all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient and bottled water may be used as an alternative. For updates, please visit the City of Boynton Beach's website.
