The City of Boynton Beach Comprehensive Plan guides future development, maintains quality of life, and provides for economic development. It also regulates land use and provides the basis for zoning regulations. The City has initiated the update of its Comprehensive Plan.
The process will include a Proactive Public Participation Program (4Ps) to engage the community through a robust and dynamic series of events that will include attending City’s events, surveys, online presence and in-person workshops. The updated Comprehensive Plan will be a meaningful document based on the community vision and feedback to guide the City’s growth and development.
Chapter 163, Part 2, Florida Statutes (F.S.), requires all counties and municipalities throughout Florida to adopt local government comprehensive plans that guide future growth and development. Counties and municipalities must review their plans every seven years to determine if plan amendments are necessary to reflect changes in state requirements since the last update of the comprehensive plan. The City has initiated a thorough update of the plan.
The City’s Comprehensive Plan includes ten (10) chapters/elements: Future Land Use, Transportation, Utilities, Recreation and Open Space, Housing, Conservation and Coastal Management, Intergovernmental Coordination, Capital Improvements, and Private Property Rights.
