Historical Note: Henry William Lacey (1884-1976) and Ada Emily Rideout (1880-1945) are the parents of at least eight children, including Hazel Marjorie Lacey (1916-2000) and Ada Leona Lacey (1921-2007). Hazel Marjorie Lacey earned a B.S. in Home Economics from Florida State College for Women (later FSU) in 1940, married Winston G. McGregor (1913-1972) in 1941, and taught in the Palm Beach County school system for 26 years, starting in 1940. She taught in several schools, including Boynton Beach Junior High, and several subjects, including home economics and mathematics. After retiring from teaching in 1972, she became a staff member at the City of Lake Worth Library (1975-1985). She was active in the Boynton Beach chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church in Boynton Beach. Ada Leona Lacey married Mack McClain, of McClain Family Farm, and had several children, including Cindy Lacey (Nye), the donor of this material.

Scope and Content Note: Chiefly family photographs, photographs of Hazel Lacey McGregor’s Boynton Elementary School classes, and yearbooks from the Florida State College of Women (1938, 1939, 1940).
